Staying Fit While Travelling
To many of us, travel and holiday almost always means enjoying a week or two of pure relaxation -- of whiling away time without doing anything and enjoying fun, great moments with family, friends or with a special someone. That is to say, when going on a vacation, there are only two things that most people usually do -- eat and idle around. Hence, gaining weight and travelling can be assumed as apples and oranges all packed in one gift basket. This makes the notion of putting together the words fitness and travel as somewhat a mismatch, or rather odd. This need not confuse you, however, because one and one adds to up to two, not one. Meaning, fitness and travel is never a single activity, but you can do both in one opportunity, at the same time, at the same moment. Much like hitting two birds with one stone, achieving two of your goals with one effort.
The idea of fitness travel is a new trend in the area of travelling and weight loss. The rising popularity of this trend can be attributed to the demanding work and busy lifestyle that many of us are forced to deal with these days. With so many things to do in so little time, even the most essential things, such as eating breakfast and doing exercise, that are necessary to help us keep our health in good condition are disregarded. So to help people make up for this neglect, the concept of fitness travel was born.
What makes fitness travel popular is that it allows holidaymakers to see and experience many of the great things the world offers and at the same time, engage in activities that are both beneficial to the physical and mental health. Many travel agencies offer this new travel scheme today, and unlike the usual travel packages and tours, fitness travel programs are focused on a multitude of physical activities. A month or several weeks prior to your flight, a health coach will assess what type of physical activities you are fit to do, as well as suggest some meal and exercise instructions to prepare you for a heart-racing trip. More so, a fitness travel program does not end as soon as the trip is over. The service usually extends for a month after your trip with the health coach monitoring how well are you doing after the trip.
